Huge Lot of Marvel and DC Comics. A twelve hundred-fifty plus (1,250+) lot of over 30 year old DC and Marvel Comic Books, all brand new from deadstock. These comics were obtained direct from my comic book wholesalers in the 1980's. I bought between 1 and 3 of each intending them to be the base of a comic book stock in a new collectibles shop I planned to open.

Each book was bagged and boarded when received, but they were never put out for sale. That's because by 1986, my collectibles business had essentially become one of entirely trading in baseball cards at an ever increasing number of card shows. Comic books went on the back-burner. By 1989, I did open a shop, but it was a card shop and did not include comic books or other collectibles. All of my collectibles including comic books went into a 10x25 foot storage locker filling it about 6-8 feet high and remained there for decades.

The books are still unopened as received and in the original bags with boards I placed them in new over 30 years ago. Each book is in very high grade, averaging near mint or better. The few scans shown are of comics still inside their original bags. Any spots, reflections or distortions appearing in the scans come from the bags and are not part of the books. We will provide additional scans on request.

This very valuable lot is not for the average dealer or collector. Rather, it is for those who appreciate the increasing market value of top condition comics. They will understand this lot offers profits of multiple times its cost and to fully maximize the return could take up to a year to sell them individually.

Many first editions, first appearances, key and desirable issues are found here, so look carefully through the complete list of comic books in this lot shown below. Duplication is very limited, with only one of most of the books being available. If you know comics, you'll know that the lack of duplication helps maximize the return on this investment. The limited quantities provide for collectors to start collections of new series and to fill in the issues they are missing from a series without overloading a dealer with excesses of the same books. And again, these comics are not the average grade, but are in such a higher grade as to be significantly desirable to collectors. Their condition, limited duplication, and diversity of variety promotes their resale.

This lot is an extremely unusual offering. High grade collections of old comic books put away direct from comic book wholesalers rarely, if ever, now come up for sale. Don't be confused by the volume, the quality is real. Both collectors and dealers alike have this limited opportunity to expand their collections or stocks with a useful and wide diversity of top condition DC and Marvel Comis that are 35 to 50 years old. The comic books in this lot in alphabetical order (and not arranged by rarity) are: Amazing Adventures Marvel Vol 1 #29 (Mar 1975) featuring Killraven Warrior of the Worlds, and Vol 2 #4 (Mar 1980) featuring the X-Men The Amazing Spider-Man , Marvel #277 (June 1986), #279 Aug.
